What are Baby Amber Teething Necklaces?

baby with polished amber teething necklaceEvery mum I know dreads when their baby starts to grow teeth… We panic and brace ourselves for sleepless nights.

We don’t know how excruciating it is for our little angels, but we do know it hurts and can cause bubs to feel very unwell. As mums, our primary concern is the health and well-being of our babies and we just want to do what is best for them.

I’ve tried many remedies like rubbing my fingers on my baby’s gums, using a clean wet cold face washer, to pain relief pills.

When my baby is teething, I’d have to tend to his every need just to ease the pain, this becomes very time consuming and tiring. As every Mum knows, time is precious and we would rather be enjoying our babies not seeing them in pain every minute of the day.

So, I asked myself: “Is there a better way to treat my Babies Teething Pain?”

My neighbor suggested that I try a Baby Baltic Amber Teething Necklace. So at my wits end, I purchased a necklace and started using it, my two-year-old son has gotten through teething without a mumble.

What are Amber Teething Necklaces Made From?

Amber Teething Necklaces are not new. In fact, it is one of the oldest healing remedies for teething babies. Baltic amber teething necklaces have been a traditional European remedy known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Its healing properties make it an ideal and natural product for babies and children.

Baltic Amber is a plant resin that grew in Scandinavia or elsewhere around the Baltic Sea. This resin is polished and made into a necklace to be worn by our babies.

The beads of the necklaces are made from amber. Amber is a fossilized sap that grew as much as fifty million years ago.

How do Amber Necklaces Work?

Between late 1930’s and 1940’s, European Biochemists discovered that succinic acid is an amino acid that is created naturally in every cell of the body. This acid is capable of aerobic respiration.

This is also how carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are metabolized into energy.

Part of what’s great about Amber is that the resin has a chemical property which, when formed, acts as a natural embalming agent with both drying an anti-microbial properties. In fact, Ancient Egyptians used pine resin as an embalming agent, and during the Civil War, doctors would use sap tree resin on a wound as an alternative disinfectant and saved lives that way.

If worn close to the skin, the body heat helps release a small amount of oil from the amber which is then absorbed into the blood steam.

Baltic amber can reduce acidity in the human body in a more natural way. If your baby wears a Teething Necklace everyday, it reduces common symptoms relating to teething like swollen gums, the redness of the cheeks, fevers, irritability plus many more health benefits.

Who can Wear a Baltic Amber Necklace?

My one big regret, is that my baby was two years of age when I found out about Amber Teething necklaces. When I put it on him for the first time, he just wasn’t used to it.

So he would take it off most of the time, it took him a few months before he got used to wearing the necklace. So, as I previously mentioned if I had got my son to wear a necklace when he was around three months, the process would have been easier.

I absolutely love my Amber Teething Necklace. Not only for the teething benefits, but, it looks great. The healing remedies of amber also saves me from having to tend my babies needs when he was teething.

I also noticed that my little boy is calmer and happier than when he didn’t have this amber teething necklace on. So this makes for a much happier Mum.
